Research & Development of electronic ballistics systems is the foundation on which the company was founded and has continued to be a driving force in the company's evolution.  Metal Storm's Research and Development capabilities have brought several revolutionary products to the marketplace by transforming ideas into sound technology.

Metal Storm maintains a cadre of the brightest research scientists and engineers who have achieved major breakthroughs in the area of ballistics research for our company as well as for our customers. We have established research facilities in Australia and North America that are equipped with the latest design and analysis tools, laboratory equipment, prototype manufacturing equipment, and test and evaluation facilities.

Our multi-disciplinary team has skills in internal and external ballistics, micro-electronics, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), robotics, chemical engineering and mechanical engineering.

Metal Storm has been called upon by Government agencies, universities, major military and aerospace companies and commercial companies to assist them in the further development of concepts and in some cases, the realisation of those concepts through full product development.
